See Ya Poolside!

Hello, friends!

I ended up not getting to go on that hike after all. The sky was threatening to storm, and I had a headache. Along with a massive amount of homework. So I spent hours working on my research assignment, read crazy facebook updates about Casey Anthony, and eventually slept. The next day, Friday, was much better. I went to class for a couple of hours, then hung out at the pool with my peeps. I even have the slightest hint of a tan line. I cannot remember the last time that happened.

Oh, oh! I finally joined the rest of the nerd world and watched the first two episodes of Firefly. It is pretty good so far. It is just very odd to see Nathan Fillion so "young" looking. I realize that his character on Castle seems to draw a lot from "The Captain".

Today I discovered the secret code of making our A/C between 65 and 75 degrees (it's usually one or the other), did an insane amount of dusting/vacuuming/organizing, and am now getting ready to hang out with awesome friend Penney. Stay tuned tomorrow for a pic of my gorgeous Mad Men style dress!

Love to all,
Abby

Baby, You're a Fiiiiiiiirework!

So, I ended up neglecting this blog all summer. I loved, loved, loved my internship, but was too exhausted by the time I got home to post. And obviously my weekends were spent eating and going to the movies. So no time was made for The Blog.

Anyways, now I am back at school for a research class. It amuses me/makes me happy because my teacher is quite Oprah-like. He constantly gives us affirmations and little nuggets of spiritual wisdom. And since I am technically auditing the class, it's like having a free life coach who also betters my SLP-dom. Love it.

Last night I ate fresh, homegrown vegetables for the first time in my life. It was pretty much the greatest thing ever. I ate spicy sweet potatoes and am still smacking my lips together in remembrance of the deliciousness.

If it doesn't storm this evening, I am going on a hike. Otherwise, I will probably return to my Netflix and my pink Snuggle. You know how I roll.
